Scenarios Forum 2022 Code of Conduct

Purpose


The Scenarios Forum is intended to promote collaboration and idea exchange among a diverse set of communities using or developing scenarios for use in climate change and sustainability analysis. To make it possible, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and religion. As such all attendees, both on-site and by remote, of the Scenarios Forum 2022 are required to agree with the following Code of Conduct
. We invite all those who participate in our events to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.

 

Expected Behavior

  • Be kind, considerate and respectful.
  • Behave appropriately: refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Promptly report any behavior that makes you or others feel uncomfortable to Scenarios Forum staff at scenariosforum2022@iiasa.ac.at.
  • Follow the rules and the regulations
  • Participate in a collaborative and active way.

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct by any attendees of the Scenarios Forum 2022, in any of the conference venues, including research sessions, workshop sessions, the IIASA connect online platform, Twitter and other online media. Examples includes (but are not limited to): offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, physical appearance, national origin, or ethnicity; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation, shaming, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome verbal or sexual attention. Any behavior targeted towards disruption of the conference, talks or of other events of the Scenarios Forum 2022, including on the IIASA connect online platform, will be considered unacceptable and not be tolerated.

Consequences of unacceptable behavior

If a participant engages with any behavior considered unacceptable, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate. The organizers may reserve the right to remove in-person and/or digital participants without reimbursement if attendees are in violation of the Code of Conduct. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately.
