Catering Principles
Catering for the conference will be provided by the University of Leeds in-house catering service – Great Food at Leeds.
For Great Food at Leeds the sustainability of its processes, produce and products is fundamental to its vision for the future.
Scenarios Forum Catering Principles
Follow the EAT-LANCET guidelines on a planetary-healthy plate throughout the conference.
Where possible, all fruits and vegetables sourced during the conference will be either “Red Tractor certified” or from a local supplier, reducing the food miles impact.
No ruminant meat is served during the conference.
All meat and fish are fully traceable with accompanying animal welfare accreditation.
Food products are sourced locally where possible.
All menus will contain seasonal produce where possible.
Food waste is minimised and uneaten food is recycled sustainably.
Single-use packaging, plastics, and serving containers including tableware are minimised.
Where possible all of the campus conference catering transported from the Kitchen to the venue will be done by electric vehicles.
All tea and coffee used during the conference will be ethically sourced from Rainforest Alliance associated farmers.
